United Way of Northwest Arkansas celebrates the re-opening of 2-1-1 for Northwest Arkansas

As of July 8, anyone in Northwest Arkansas may dial 2-1-1 to give or get help. The 2-1-1 call center, located at the United Way office, links individuals and families to important information about available community resources, referrals, or volunteer opportunities. 2-1-1 is the one stop for residents of Northwest Arkansas to find out how to give help or get help. There is also an 800 number that can be called if for some reason there cell phone system does not allow the call to go through. It is 866-489-6983.
This easy-to-remember, three-digit, information and referral system operated for all of Arkansas until October 2009, when it ceased due to lack of state funding. The gap in services for Northwest Arkansas residents dependent on the system to obtain and provide help to meet their health and human service needs guided United Way of Northwest Arkansas to re-open the service for our region.
