In an effort to reduce costs and our impact on the environment, NWA Head Start uses a "paperless" application process. To begin the pre-application process, please click the appropriate link (English or Spanish) and fill out the resulting form. If you need assistance please call one of our locations or our Central Office and our staff will be happy to assist you. We can e-mail a copy of the application or complete one over the phone with you.

Children from 6 weeks to age five are categorically eligible for Early Head Start/Head Start if:

Experiencing Homelessness

● In foster care

● Recipient of public assistance (SNAP, TANF or SSI).

TANF-funded programs in Arkansas include TEA, Work Pays, Career Pathways, and Community Investment Initiative programs.

Income Eligibility

A child from age 6 weeks to age five is income eligible for Early Head Start/Head Start if the family's income is determined to be below the income figures published annually by the federal government as the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

A pregnant woman is income eligible for Early Head Start Pregnant Woman Program if homeless, in foster care, or the recipient of public assistance (SNAP, TANF or SSI). TANF funded programs in Arkansas include TEA, Work Pays, Career Pathways, and Community Investment Initiative programs.

Documents Required for Eligibility:

●      Proof of Birth (signed hospital or state certificate)

●      Proof of Residence (no P.O Boxes)

○       A current real-estate property tax receipt

○      Current utility bill showing the name and address of the student’s parent or legal guardian.

○       A rental or lease agreement showing the name and address of the student’s parent or legal guardian.

○       A current utility bill from a utility company showing the name and address of the parent or legal guardian.

●      Immunization Record or Immunization Exempt State Letter

●      Proof of Income for each parent ….

○       Check Stubs (a years’ worth of consecutive check stubs a month before application)

○       Tax Documents (Form 1040)

○       Child Support (proof of two consecutive payments)

○       School Financial Aid

○       SNAP  (acceptance letter or copy of SNAP Card)

●      Disability/Therapy Documentation (if applicable)

●      Custody/Court Documentation (if applicable)

 

 Documentos Requeridos para Eligibilidad:

●      Prueba de Nacimiento (certificado de hospital o estado)

●      Prueba de Domicilio (no P.O Boxes)

○      Un recibo de impuestos de propiedad de bienes raizes, junto con una fractura de servicios receiente con el nombre del el padre o guardian del estudiante.

○      Un contrato de alquiler, junto con una fractura de servicions recientes con el nombre del padre o guardian del estudiante.

○      Una copia de las fracturas de servicios mas recientes de dos companias de servicios differentes que muestren el nombre y direccion de el padre o guardian de el estudiante.

●      Registro de Vacunas

○      Carte de Exencion del Estado

●      Prueba de Ingresos para ambos padres …..

○      Talones de Cheques (un año de talones de cheques consecutivos un mes antes de la solicitud)         

○      Documentos de Impuestos (Forma 1040)

○      Manutencion de Hijo (prueba de dos pagos recibidos consecutivos)

○      Asistencia Financiera de Educacion

○      SNAP (carta de aceptación o copia de la tarjeta SNAP
