PREGNANT WOMEN

Our Pregnant Woman Program provides support and resources to expecting mothers residing in Benton, Carroll, and Madison Counties. As a part of the Early Head Start Program, it is a federally funded program at no cost for eligible families. We aim to help pregnant women prepare for motherhood, assisting them in obtaining proper prenatal care to ensure their unborn child’s healthy growth and development. The NWA Head Start Pregnant Woman Program educates expecting mothers on how to have a healthy pregnancy, supports them through postpartum care, and provides nurturing care and learning experiences to their infants.

Partners for a Healthy Baby is the Curriculum that is used for our Home Based EHS and Pregnant Women Programs.  Partners is a "two generational" curriculum that addresses the needs of both the parents and the child. We know that unless the family is stable, they cannot possibly meet the health and developmental needs of their young children. For that reason, Partners covers a wide array of issues related to Family Development and Family Health & Safety, and includes content that addresses Preparing and Caring for Baby/Toddler; and Baby's/Toddler's Development.

Ready Rosie is a Parenting Curriculum that can be used for parents that best fits their time frame.  Parents receive an email or text  weekly that contains 1 to 2 pre-selected videos that the teachers select individually for each child.  Teachers select videos based on each child’s educational needs.  The videos range from fine motor, gross motor, math, literacy, and many more areas that the families can work with their child at home.  The parents are their child’s first teacher.
